The famed Smiths guitarist has released a photographic compilation of the guitars used in the making of his influential music.

With each featured guitar, Johnny describes which song the guitar was used for, and why it is significant, often including how he acquired them.

The book includes close up features of many of the guitars.

For example, the 1965 Fender Stratocaster that he sold to Noel Gallagher of Oasis, which Noel used on the well known song ‘Wonderwall’.

As a coffee table book it checks the usual boxes, lots of high quality images of the guitars, amps, also some photos of Johnny in his heyday.

The book includes a foreword by Hans Zimmer, and an interview of Johnny By Martin Kelly.

Like most coffee table books, It's large, bulky, and difficult to just "flip through".

The stories contained in the book have previously been widely circulated, so you're really not learning anything "new" about Johnny or his guitars. The book is priced at sixty dollars (USD) so I would suggest borrowing it from the library to see if it fits your coffee table - because "some books are bigger than others!"
